The toils of nonfiction forensic writing takes a toll, so to speak. Lots of research, testing, theories, and then more research, testing, and theories.  It is fun and educational at the same time. But it is also limiting in that you can't make stuff up (because nothing in nonfiction better be made up!).

All this nonfiction writing has led me to fiction writing. In between a few dozen other things, I am squeezing in a fiction book to be published this year. The best part of fiction writing is that I can make stuff up. Considering that I have more than a few wide and varied experiences to draw upon, I should not be lacking in subject matter.    As to the plot...wait and see until I get can guess that something about infosec will be in it...maybe some police work too...definitely not a romance novel.
